Innovation Day has become a flagship event for many Creditsafers, and every year, more and more people take part and come up with amazing solutions for colleagues and customers.
This year was no exception to this trend!In total, 32 teams and over 290 Creditsafersparticipated in Dublin, Cardiff, and Hyderabad.
The solutions were wide-ranging and numerous: some focused on automating tasks and decisions, others on enriching our data, and still others centered on customer experiences. The event concluded with high-quality pitch videos that showcased the value of the solutions and provided some good laughs.
Teams had to produce a final demo video with a maximum duration of 3 minutes. The presentations candidly explained how the solution worked and the pain points it addressed, with some featuring production values and VFX that would put Michael Bay to shame!
The day began with breakfast and the distribution of the remaining custom-branded Hackathon T-shirts.
Armed with coffee, croissants, and inspiration, the teams walked into the Bob Bank room and connected to the Wi-Fi for the introductory presentation by Navdeep Sharma, the founder and organizer of the Hackathon.
After the talk, the teams set out to develop an innovative solution and video presentation against the looming deadline of 8 a.m. the next day!
You could feel the energy of the day buzzing through the offices; the fun, camaraderie, excitement, and pressure all coming together to create an inspiring, fun, and exhilarating experience.
We saw laughter, intense coding, high-fives, markers and whiteboards, everyone digging into generous portions of Domino’s pizza, and much more.
Toward the end of the day, the teams gradually called it a day (at least for now!), with some staying behind to celebrate with a few drinks and some food, while others headed home to fine-tune their hard work and demo.
With presentations submitted by 8 a.m. and code reviews already underway for the solutions, all the global teams sat down and enjoyed each other’s presentations. A mind-blowing array of innovative ideas was presented—a huge congratulations to everyone!
After the video presentations, each team’s submissions were carefully reviewed by the judges, leading to the announcement of this year’s winners! According to Navdeep, this year’s deliberations were the closest they’ve ever been, so it was a tough call.
Reflecting on the experience, our CIO, Brian McGeough, said:
“I expect we’ll implement just about every one of these ideas at some point… We set some goals for ourselves earlier this year, and you all responded quickly… It’s so clear from today that every team is taking the tools available to them and, within a single day, producing code, implementing solutions, and coming up with truly innovative ideas. It’s just phenomenal… We’ve reached an all-time high in every respect this year. Well done, everyone.”
What did our Creditsafers like best about the day?
“I think it’s a great way to bond with colleagues and work on something different from our day-to-day routine. I look forward to it every year and think it does a great job of recharging the team. This year, the refreshments and team spirit seemed especially good!”

“I think my favorite part of every hackathon is the camaraderie, the ideas, and the hustle and bustle—seeing others unleash their creativity, spend time on an idea they’ve been mulling over—perhaps for months—and bring it out into the real world.”
